For all my business owners, the last two weeks were probably not a lot of fun trying to file 1099s. It begs the question; does it need to be this difficult? No.Collect W-9s as you pay contractors throughout the year. It is that simple. Ask for a W-9 and withhold payment until you receive one. Accurately track your expenses within an accounting software (We use QuickBooks Online). At the end of the year, push a couple buttons, and ta-da… 1099s filed within an instant

2. Fore! Flashbacks

For any of my golf fans out there, I'm sure you saw Brooks Koepka is back. Patrick Reed is also coming back, but I'm sure you've heard less about that. The 5-time major winner is returning to the PGA Tour after several years playing on the "LIV" tour. He's playing his second round at Torrey Pines as I'm writing this (01/30/2026) in his debut. Other notable golfers that still play on LIV would include 2024 US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau and 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm. For golfers who say they want to play against the best, maybe this will get them to reconsider their current tour. Time will tell!

Six months ago, we moved our first headquarters into the third bedroom of Sammy's house. It has served us all too well, but it is time for a change!We are very excited to be moving to the new Genuine Workspace in NuLu. Please stop by and see us.
